Summary:

The Aerial Groundhand Will Work As Part Of A Crew On Aerial Telecommunications Construction Projects Of Various Complexity. . Responsibilities Include Loading, Unloading, Cleaning And Preparing Work Sites, Clean-up Of Debris Or Waste Materials, Layout And Prep Tools / Supplies / Equipment / Materials Needed At Each Job Site. Assist, As Required, In All Manual Labor Aspects Of The Project As Directed By The Linemen, Foreman Or Supervisor, And Handle Physically Demanding Construction Duties. Candidates Will Be Required To Operate Hand And Power Tools Of All Types, Including Air Hammers, Earth Tampers, Chainsaws, Trenching Equipment And A Variety Of Other Equipment And Tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Construction Equipment / Utilize Standard Telecommunications Tools
  • Operate Hydraulic Aerial Lifts And Ladders
  • Prepare And Assemble Various Pole Hardware Required For Particular Work Being Performed.
  • Assist With Loading Of Various Materials Onto Trucks And/or Trailers
  • Operate Vehicle, Following All Safety And Traffic Regulations
  • Maintain Proper Inventory On Vehicle Based On Work Assignment
  • Keep Work Areas Clean And Organized
  • Assist With Keeping Detailed Record Of Work Activity
  • Assist With Maintaining A Safe Work Zone To Include Traffic Management
  • Assist With ROW Clearance When Required (to Include Tree Trimming And Debris)
  • Any And All Other Duties Assigned By Supervisor/foreman/Linemen
  • Safely Work Within Confined Space Following All NES Safety Regulations, OSHA Regulations, And Any Other Applicable Local/state/federal Regulations

Education:

  • High School Diploma Or Its Equivalent

Experience:

  • Prior Experience Working In An Outside Plant/construction Environment A Plus
  • Valid Drivers License (Valid CDL-A Is A Plus)
  • Ability To Endure Long Periods Of Standing, Sitting, Or Walking
  • Must Be Able To Perform Strenuous Physical Labor In An Outdoor Environment During All Times Of The Year And Weather Conditions
  • Ability To Work Varied Schedule (on Call, Evening And Weekends As Needed)
  • Ability To Climb Ladders And Use Bucket Trucks As Needed
  • Must Be Able To Perform Strenuous Physical Labor Under All Types Of Weather Conditions
  • Must Be Able To Carry 75-80 Lbs., To Include An Extension Ladder.
  • Must Be Able To Work At Heights Of 20+’ Feet
  • Must Be Able To Travel
  • Must Be Able To Bend, Stand, Sit, Crawl, Climb And Lift Throughout Work Shift
  • Work Mandatory Overtime As Required
  • Must Be Authorized To Work In The United States
  • Must Be Able To Pass Drug, Background And MVR Screenings
